日仏の異なる文化や背景の組み合わせとアップデートがベースコンセプトの「TENEO」と、『伝承は衰退、伝統は革新の連続』という家訓をモットーに江戸時代から岐阜県高山市で窯元としてものづくりと向き合ってきた渋草柳造窯が、それぞれの伝統文化/工芸を進化させようとするスタンスに共感しスタートしたアートプロジェクト第一弾。
『伝統工芸を、これからの生活の中で自然に使用できるアートピースに。』をメインテーマにスタートしたこのプロジェクトの第一弾は、COVID-19によって今まで以上に大きく変化する時代の流れの中での伝統工芸の新しいカタチの具現化を目的に企画。
不安感や恐怖心などネガティブなイメージが連想されやすいガスマスクをパンデミック渦の過去の象徴として敢えて、デザインベースに採用。相反する安心感や癒しなどのポジティブなイメージを持つ植物や生花を未来の象徴として植えこむ/生けることで、2020〜の大きな混乱と困難を忘れることなく、前を向いて行こうと言うメッセージを込めています。
ものづくりの街高山の伝統を受け継ぐ七代渋草柳造氏の代名詞でもある高い造形力を余すことなく投入し、複数の型を駆使して制作したのちに手作業で細部を仕上げたセミハンドメイドの盆栽鉢と花瓶バージョンで展開。
受注生産となりますので、オーダー後1〜２ヶ月ほどで発送になります。

The first art project initiated by TENEO, whose base concept is to combine and update the different cultures and backgrounds of Japan and France, and Shibukusa Ryuzo Kiln, which has been dealing with manufacturing as a potter in Takayama City, Gifu Prefecture since the Edo period under the motto, "Tradition is decline, tradition is continuous innovation.
The first phase of this project, which started with the main theme of "Making traditional crafts into art pieces that can be used naturally in our daily lives," was planned with the aim of realizing a new form of traditional crafts in the midst of the current trends that are changing more drastically than ever with COVID-19.
The gas mask, which is often associated with negative images such as anxiety and fear, was adopted as the design base as a symbol of the past pandemic vortex. By planting and arranging plants and flowers, which have positive images such as a sense of security and healing, as symbols of the future, we hope to convey the message of looking forward without forgetting the great confusion and difficulties of 2020.
Mr. Ryuzo Shibukusa, the seventh generation of Shibukusa, who has inherited the traditions of Takayama, a city of craftsmanship, has applied all of his high modeling skills to create semi-handmade bonsai pots and vases, using multiple molds and then finishing the details by hand.
